Economic uncertainty and tougher trading conditions mean more businesses are turning to the web to broaden their customer-base with relatively low expenditures...
Retail sales conditions are becoming progressively more challenging - and a significant cause of this is the gradual migration of retail spending from the high street on to the web.
As an e-commerce website provider, this can only be good news for us - and we take heart in the number of our clients supplementing - and in some cases even improving upon - in-store sales revenues via their websites.
This positive effect on sales is particularly potent where geographical location is a factor - and with a nationally-available online shop, this is suddenly no longer the case - as orders begin to flow from all corners of the country - or even the world.
The effect is not just restricted to online trading. Service businesses gain immediate exposure via the web - to a far wider audience and at a much more economical cost than virtually any other form of marketing.
Get in touch with us to see how we can build you not just a website, but a wider base of potential customers to broaden your exposure - and sales - across the UK.
Online shopping sales in 2007 are reported at 106% higher than the previous year, far higher than expected, new research from SecureTrading and eDigitalResearch shows. Monday 10 December was the biggest UK online shopping day ever, with sales worth £370 million, almost treble the £126 million average day rate for the rest of the year.
40% of those sales, worth £148 million, took place outside of traditional shopping hours, either before 9am or after 6pm, up from 38% last year. Total Christmas e-retail sales (i.e. Q4 2007) are expected to reach £17.6 billion, an 82% increase of the £9.6 billion recorded for the same period in 2006.
With the e-commerce boom set to continue in 2008, more and more retailers are turning their attentions to online retail operations to secure their piece of the action in time for the next financial year and ensuring they have an adequate and established e-commerce site and strategy in time for next Christmas.
David & Andrews web design, e-commerce and online marketing is sponsoring the reigning world junior ladies snooker champion for the 2007/08 snooker season.
Suzie Opacic, pictured, is one of the world's top female snooker players. Based in Eastleigh, Hampshire, she competes in tournaments across the UK and is one of the country's leading junior sports-people.
We are pleased to be supporting Suzie through the following snooker season, enabling her to continue her competitive snooker career alongside her full-time studies as a student at Bournemouth University.
A popular figure in the local media, Suzie is exactly the sort of successful, enthusiastic and hard-working young sports-person that David & Andrews Internet Services is pleased to have their name associated with.
This sponsorship is exactly the sort of thing we are committed to doing for local deserving causes - and we welcome approaches from other prominent and worthy local sports-people, teams and organisations that are seeking support from local businesses.
